What role does the purchasing department play in the company’s supply chain?
Our role is quite central, and we have a wide variety of tasks within the department.
Our main responsibility is to ensure that products are available on time, and to maintain a healthy level of stock, while taking care not to understock or, conversely, overstock. It’s vital for us to ensure that we have the supplies we need, while at the same time keeping our costs down.
Secondly, product development and creation play an important role in our department.
Indeed, for each new development, our main mission is to find the best prices and make sure they are respected.
We are also working on continuous product improvement, while promoting potential savings.
Last but not least, regulatory/quality issues play a major role in our department, as we ensure that each product complies with quality standards and constraints before being put on the market.
How does the purchasing department contribute to the quality of the products and services our company offers its customers?
Customer satisfaction is a top priority at Tensio-Actifs.
On a day-to-day basis, we try to be as flexible as possible in order to manage their requests and meet their expectations and requirements.
For certain needs, we are able to offer personalized or even customized services.
What are the main trends and challenges facing purchasing departments today?
As with most companies today, the major challenge for Tensio-Actifs is to respect its CSR commitments and its desire to act for society and the environment.
In concrete terms, these commitments translate into a desire to source more locally, to find suppliers who are geographically closer, and to favor greener raw materials… Finally, our second challenge is to respond to the company’s growth by finding appropriate solutions and answers to support this growth.
